Simon Bolivar Square

This picture was taken in Simon Bolivar Square, Bogotá Colombia. Who was Simon Bolivar? Why is he so important to Colombians?

Thanks to Mrs. Huerta's class for writing back.

Simon Bolivar is revered in northern South America. He helped Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, which took his name for their country.

A Colombian said he is their George Washington. Last night we ate at an Italian restaurant. The owner is from Rome. He makes his own pasta and sun dries his tomatoes. To answer Michael; pizza is here and finger licking good.

Tell Joycie we will be back for her graduation!

  1. We miss you! We just finished studying Colombia. Fatima says, "He helped conquer the Spanish people in Colombia."
